Waltair division freight traffic up
Divisional Railway Manager A.K. Satpathy on Monday said the freight traffic from April to July from the Waltair Railway Division fetched revenue of Rs 2,749.20 crore-which is Rs 120 crore more than the last financial year.

Visakhapatnam: Divisional Railway Manager A.K. Satpathy on Monday said the freight traffic from April to July from the Waltair Railway Division fetched revenue of Rs 2,749.20 crore-which is Rs 120 crore more than the last financial year.
Speaking at the I-Day function here, he said the passenger traffic in 2021-22 from April to July was 1.92 million. The number of passengers in 2022-23 was 8.28 million which grew by 331.25 per cent due to all out efforts by the employees.
He mentioned that passenger revenue was Rs 75.14 crore in 2021-22 and Rs 226.71 crore in 2022-23 which showed 201.72 per cent growth for the same period. The DRM admired the efforts of recognised unions for their constructive role in healthy industrial relations.
He said that the Women's Welfare Organization of Waltair is always in the front line to assist the Railway staff and their family members for their well being and in sharing social responsibility of the administration.
